Hand Fabricated Gibson Mando Tailpiece Cover Goldplate

Ron was making these mandolin covers for different people before he passed. 
He left a couple of them on his bench.
I don't know as much about these as everything else...
I know he preferred to make them to specific instruments, as the originals were always a little different.
