Made for my friend, David Ferretta about 1983. David was well known on the Denver music scene as dealer in fine vintage instruments. His shop was called “Ferretta Music Service”
He also ran a coffee shop called Global Village in the 1970s where I was introduced to some great Bluegrass and folk music.
David was also an avid poker player and taught me some of the fine points of Texas Hold ‘em before it had become popular. Through a side door from his music shop, he ran two tables with professional dealers just after Denver had closed down legal poker nights in night clubs.
He had me create a small number of these brass card protectors and used one for the “Dealer” chip.
A rare look into some underground Denver history.
